I know I said that I would be updating you on all my mountain adventures, however when you’re spending all of your free time in the mountains it cuts into blogging time. So, rather than bore you with the details, I’ll give you a brief synopsis of some fun adventures I’ve had in the last 2 weeks.
2 weeks ago I went for a fantastic 53km run in the Bragg Creek area. The run included 2500m of climbing and the first 15km were run uphill in ankle deep snow. Good character building outing 🙂 I spent most the run chasing down my friend Steph who seemed to have rockets attached to her shoes, so I only got a few pictures.
The following weekend I got out for a very sunny and mostly snow-free ridge run. We had planned on summiting 7 peaks, but one of the peaks had definite avalanche danger so we opted to skip out and “just” do 6 instead. The weather has been incredibly good and it’s hard to believe that we could pull off a trip like this in early April.
I’m already up to 11 unique peaks for this year, having added on Door Jam and Loder during a pre-work run on Thursday. With big adventure plans for Saturday I will likely pass the halfway mark for the 2016 Summit Project. Did I mention it’s only April?!
Earlier this week I got a fantastic package in the mail:
- 2016 Icebug Animas
- Ultraspire packs (Spry 2.0 and Velocity)
- Swiftwick socks
- Ultraspire 500ml soft bottles
I’ll be testing this gear out over the next several runs/adventures. Initial impressions are already positive 🙂
